This app won't work with Sonos devices which are not at the same firmware version. As the result, if any of the sonos controllers on any of the clients have been updated, one is forced to perform a system-wide update, on all clients - somethig I have no desire doing since i find the current EULA unacceptable. I've bought the (rather expensive) sonos sound system on the promise of the convenience and ease of use. It is proving to be anything but.

I don't know what Sonos have done. But the connectivity on my Play 5 Gen 1 was always pretty poor given Sonos is one of the top brands. But they seem to have taken a poor system, remodelled it, and made it so poor that the wireless function just doesn't work and, even when Hard Wired, the Spotify connection is now unnecessarily over complicated and clunky. You get better functionality from cheap chinese stuff. Absolutely shocking.

better than the desktop version with its poor click to action ratio and weird menus. still can't see file names (MP3 metadata only), which is frustrating for your own recordings. The lack of a podcasting solution is becoming increasingly annoying. It would be nice to have different EQ profiles associated with different kinds of broadcast (basically music or voice).
